What is Acro?

Acro is a physical and mental discipline practiced with a partner or multiple partners. The physical benefits include enhanced strength, stability, mobility, balance, and body awareness. Internally, acro gives the opportunities to learn lessons on communication, teamwork, setting boundaries, trust, and self-assessment.

What do we offer?

Level 1 Acrobatics

Begin your journey towards a healthier, fitter, more connected future! Level 1 Acro classes will help you lay the foundation needed to take your acro journey anywhere you can dream of. Classes will cover a range of standing acro and acroyoga skills to prepare ANYONE for high level skills. ALL ages, fitness levels, and sizes welcome!

Level 2 Acrobatics

Once you've laid the foundation, it's time to customize your practice to whatever fits your style: dance lifts, hand-to-hand, pops and whips, etc! We have it all in our Level 2 classes. [Note: new members must test out of Level 1 with an instructor to be eligible for Level 2 classes. Message us for more info]

Open Gym Training

Practice makes perfect. Take advantage of our Open Gym Training times 6 days per week to improve your skills in a safe, supportive, respectful environment. This is an uncoached opportunity, but collaborative exploration with other students and teachers is encouraged.

Kinection Arts offers a variety of memberships and class packs to meet the needs of the community, from first time acroyogis to professional performers.

1. Awareness

The biggest difference between confidence and cockiness is awareness.  What are we capable of? What are our limitations and strengths? To be a safe partner in acrobatics, we have to understand how to explore these questions carefully and systematically. At Kinection Arts, we foster a safe environment to fail and succeed, so we can push ourselves to our limits and beyond without hurting ourselves or others.

2. Communication

Communication is hard enough when we're relaxed and feel safe. Acro puts us in a place of stress and danger, while forcing us to communicate with our partner to succeed. At Kinection Arts, we use acro to teach us to check our emotions, keep calm, and seek to understand.

3. Responsibility

Responsibility closes a lot of doors, but it opens far more exciting ones! In acro, we are responsible for more than just ourselves. The trust of others is on our shoulders, sometimes literally, and at Kinection Arts we teach our students how to be deserving of such trust.

4. Openness

When is the last time we willingly placed ourselves in a position of having to rely on others? It would certainly be easier to just go to the gym and lift weights, but holding others up has far more value. It is worth the work and it is worth the effort of letting down walls and insecurities. Kinection Arts surrounds it's members with community so they can open up safely.
